The Pinehurst County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a $15 million investment in broadband infrastructure to bring high-speed internet access to underserved rural communities across the county.
The project will deploy fiber-optic cable along 180 miles of county roads, connecting approximately 8,500 households and 400 businesses that currently lack reliable internet service.
The project is funded through a combination of federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds and county capital reserves.
